The Stand-Up Movement Lanka (SUML) envisions promoting the rights and entitlements of workers in Free Trade Zones (FTZs), migrant workers, commercial sex workers, and LGBTQ+ communities in Sri Lanka. Recognizing those individuals from vulnerable communities’ experience gender-based violence (GBV) across different contexts, such as factories, families, and within the cultural fabric of society, the organization works towards fostering impactful social and personal changes. The main objective of the organization is to promote and protect labour rights and the welfare of EPZ workers, migrant workers, commercial sex workers, and their families. This includes strengthening the capacities of EPZ workers, migrant workers, and commercial sex workers to attain their rights and entitlements. Furthermore, SUML provides support services in the form of legal aid, counselling, access to healthcare, and referrals to relevant resources.
